This month marks a decade of Windy Millers!
Windy Millers is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Launched for those working in the region’s offshore wind industry to enjoy an occasional social night out, it has – through a decade of incredible delivery in the day jobs of participants – enhanced networks, enabled informal introductions and made those working away from home most welcome on the Energy Estuary.
Windy Millers has also regularly travelled beyond its Humber roots and popped up alongside international events, from Manchester to Munich, Scandinavia to Seaworks in Southampton.
First promoted by Team Humber Marine Alliance and Grimsby Renewables Partnership – the two organisations that merged to become Humber Marine and Renewables – the latest event, which will no doubt toast the 10 years, takes place at Racks Pool and Sports Bar in Grimsby.
Being held on October 22, from 7pm, tools and spreadsheets can be swapped for cues and arrows as pool, interactive darts and shuffleboards provide opportunity for friendly competition and team-building, with a hot buffet and open bar providing the ideal backdrop. Games will continue until 10pm, with the bar closing at 10.30pm.

This year’s Christmas night out is also in the diary, with Hitchcock’s Vegetarian Restaurant in Hull’s Old Town booked for December 10. Further details will be published nearer the time.
