Norwegian offshore wind opportunity for Humber Marine and Renewables members
Humber Marine and Renewables members are being offered a chance to broaden their horizons and explore exporting their skills, knowledge and services – to Norway.
North Sea Wind Conference takes place next month, with business opportunities in six upcoming offshore wind projects to be presented by leading developers.
And after an initial presence at Offshore Wind Connections in Hull, members can now claim a discount on the Kristiansand event, taking place on June 11.
Projects being promoted include:
Sorlige Nordsjo II – Parkwind will share how one of Norway’s most strategic offshore zones is progressing and what suppliers need to prepare for ahead of 2031.
Baltyk II & III – Equinor and Polenergia are to update on the 1.44 GW Baltic Sea build-out – with insights into local and regional supply chain engagement.
Thor – RWE is to outline its delivery strategy for Denmark’s largest offshore wind project (1GW) and opportunities as it heads towards full operations.
Green Volt – Vårgrønn will present Europe’s first commercial-scale floating wind project (560 MW), a frontrunner for floating technology and Norwegian supplier participation.
Galene – OX2 showcase Sweden’s 400 MW project, now fully consented and grid-connected, with construction planned from 2026.
He Dreiht – EnBW plans to share its international pipeline, including the north Germany proposal and UK partnerships, and how they work with suppliers across borders.
Simon Dwyer, a familiar figure in the maritime and seafood sector in the Humber, is working with organisers to encourage UK participation.
He said: “This region has so much to offer the global offshore wind sector. Kristiansand is some 15 years behind Grimsby’s launch and we’re all very proud of how the whole of the Humber has become a world-leading cluster.
“I was delighted to welcome a delegation from Norway earlier this year, and I’d really encourage businesses keen to widen their geographical footprints to take a look.”
