Law firm does business down under
The managing partner of pan-Humber law firm Andrew Jackson has recently participated in a partners’ conference in New Zealand with Tauranga-based law firm Cooney Lees Morgan, which has been selected as New Zealand’s best mid-sized law firm in the 2010 Law Awards.
The conference was organised by Simon Tupman, a former solicitor from Scarborough, who subsequently practised in London and who now facilitates and addresses conferences for law firms worldwide. Simon is the author of the bestselling book Why Lawyers Should Eat Bananas and has recently written Legal Eagles.
Rob Penrose, managing partner at Andrew Jackson, explains: “Simon and I have worked together on conferences for Andrew Jackson for a number of years and he invited me to provide the opening address to the conference in New Zealand. Cooney Lees Morgan is one of New Zealand’s top 20 law firms and is very conscious of what is happening globally.”
Linked up by videoconference during late evening in the UK to early morning in New Zealand, Rob addressed the conference on management and developmental issues in law firms in the rapidly changing legal market.
